يعاني ملايين البشر حول العالم من رائحة الفم الكريهة, وهي مشكلة تحمل كثيرين على تجنب المحادثات القريبة وتسبب إحباطاً للبعض لاسيما الذين يحرصون على الحفاظ على أسنان صحية ونظيفة. لكن كثيرين يجهلون أن رائحة الفم سببها الرئيس صحة اللسان وليس الأسنان.

ورائحة الفم الكريهة في أغلب الأحيان لا يلاحظها الشخص نفسه لأن الدماغ يتأقلم مع رائحة الفرد الشخصية. لكن هناك طرقاً للتشخيص الذاتي, أولها اختبار اللسان، من خلال تحديد لونه.

فإذا كان وردياً ولامعاً, فذلك يشير إلى نفس جيد، أما إذا كان اللسان أبيض ومتقشراً يشير إلى رائحة فم كريهة. ويتم الاختبار الثاني يكون بلعق الجزء الخلفي من اليد، وتركها تجف لبضع ثوان، ثم يقوم الشخص بشم رائحة المكان ذاته.

ورائحة الفم الكريهة ليست عادة دليلاً على صحة الأسنان. فصحة اللسان تلعب الدور الأبرز في هذه المشكلة علماً بأن معدل أنواع البكتيريا في فم الإنسان تناهز الـ600.

ويعتبر جفاف الفم أهم أسباب تكاثر البكتيريا عليه. لأن اللعاب فيه أوكسجين وهو ما يجعله العدو الطبيعي للبكتيريا كريهة الرائحة التي لا يمكنها العيش بوجوده.

ومن الممكن أن يتم التغلب على المشكلة عبر شرب الماء وحتى مضغ العلكة الخالية من السكر ما سينتج اللعاب بشكل طبيعي. كما يمكن أيضاً استخدام حبوب النعناع الخالية من السكر أو غسول الفم. ولكن هذه الحلول مؤقتة تحجب الرائحة لكنها لا تقتل البكتيريا.

كما يحتوي الشاي الأخضر على خصائص تتيح التغلب على مشكلة رائحة الفم، لكون تلك الخصائص مضادة للبكتيريا ويمكن إضافة قليل من القرفة إليه ففيها زيوت أساسية تقتل عدداً من أنواع بكتيريا الفم.

وينصح الأطباء أخيراً بتناول الفاكهة والخضراوات لاحتوائها على فوائد إيجابية ومزدوجة، ففضلاً عن غناها بمواد تكافح رائحة الفم الكريهة, ينتج مضغ المزيد منها كمية أكبر من اللعاب

More than 70% of teens say bad breath is an instant turnoff. About 85% believe it's the most important thing to avoid when meeting someone for the first time. And while bad breath can be treated and avoided, you often don't even know that you have it!

Bad breath (called halitosis) is a common problem not only for teens, but also for everyone. So what exactly is it, what causes it, and, most importantly, how can you get rid of it?

What Causes Bad Breath?

Bad breath has a variety of causes, including:

Bacterial infections
Medications and medical conditions
Post-nasal drip
Poor hygiene (yep, you have to brush teeth more frequently)

In most cases, bad breath comes from the gums and tongue. Some bacteria in your mouth may produce compounds that result in an odor.

Certain foods, like garlic and onions, not only leave lasting odors in your mouth, but are also absorbed into the bloodstream. The odors are then expelled from the lungs. Until these foods are eliminated from the body, mouthwash, chewing gum, and toothpaste can only mask the odors on the breath.

For some people, a dry mouth causes bad breath. Dry mouth can result from taking antihistamines for allergies or a cold, or from antidepressants. It can also result from localized infections, diabetes, gastrointestinal disturbances, or liver or kidney ailments.

The post-nasal drip that streams down the back of your throat during colds, allergies, or sinus infections can result in bad breath. Sometimes, tiny food nuggets lodge in the crypts of your tonsils or on the tongue and cause a foul odor.

But most bad breath is the result of poor oral hygiene. Basically, that means you don't brush or floss frequently enough. How many times have you heard that from your dentist?

Bacteria that build up on the back of your tongue or in between your teeth are the main culprits. Certain types of bacteria love to breed on the tongue, in the crevices between your teeth, or in untreated cavities.

Finally -- yet most important -- tobacco products cause bad breath. If you smoke tobacco or chew smokeless tobacco, ask you dentist or your primary health care professional for tips on kicking the habit.

How Can I Tell If I Have Bad Breath?

Believe it or not, the most common method doesn't work to diagnose your own bad breath. Many teens think that they can blow into their hands and smell their breath. That simply doesn't work.

Instead, do this. Lick the back of your hand, let the saliva dry, then take a whiff. What you smell there is your true breath.

Another good way? If you have a trusted friend, ask them to smell your breath. Parents can also tell you if you ask.

How Do I Control My Bad Breath?

Here are some tips for controlling bad breath.

Practice good oral hygiene. Brush and floss after every meal, or at least twice a day. Proper brushing also involves brushing your tongue, cheeks, and the roof of your mouth to remove bacteria and food particles. Flossing removes bacteria, plaque, and food particles that may be trapped between teeth. Many dentists and dental hygienists also recommend cleaning your tongue with a tongue scraper, a plastic tool that scrapes away bacteria that builds up on the tongue. Mouthwashes and rinses can also temporarily relieve bad breath.
Remember your retainer. If you wear a retainer or have some kind of removable appliance, clean it thoroughly each time you brush. If you have braces, take extra time and care to clean all the nooks and crannies. Your orthodontist is a good source of information about keeping your braces clean.
Chew sugar-free gum. Chewing sugar-free gum helps stimulate saliva. This helps cleanse the teeth and gums and prevents dry mouth.
Stop using tobacco. Get help and kick the habit.
Use an anti-bacterial mouthwash. Gargling once or twice a day is good for teeth and gums and kills bad-breath bacteria in your mouth.

Where Does My Dentist Fit In?

While there is no dental specialty that deals just with bad breath, your family dentist should be able to address your concerns about oral hygiene.

If your dentist determines that your mouth is healthy, he or she may refer you to a general physician or a specialist to determine the cause of your bad breath. Your doctor can tell you if you are taking medications that can cause dry mouth, or if you have other medical conditions that may make you more likely to have dry mouth and bad breath.

Seeing your dentist regularly (at least every six months) and following his or her advice will reduce or eliminate any bad breath problems you may have. Then you won't have to worry about those potential "close encounters."

Why Do People Grind Their Teeth?

Although teeth grinding can be caused by stress and anxiety, it often occurs during sleep and is more likely caused by an abnormal bite or missing or crooked teeth.

How Do I Find Out if I Grind My Teeth?

Because grinding often occurs during sleep, most people are unaware that they grind their teeth. However, a dull, constant headache or sore jaw is a telltale symptom of bruxism. Many times people learn that they grind their teeth by their loved one who hears the grinding at night.

If you suspect you may be grinding your teeth, talk to your dentist. He or she can examine your mouth and jaw for signs of bruxism, such as jaw tenderness and abnormalities in your teeth.

Why Is Teeth Grinding Harmful?

In some cases, chronic teeth grinding can result in a fracturing, loosening, or loss of teeth. The chronic grinding may wear their teeth down to stumps. When these events happen, bridges, crowns, root canals, implants, partial dentures, and even complete dentures may be needed.

Not only can severe grinding damage teeth and result in tooth loss, it can also affect your jaws, result in hearing loss, cause or worsen TMD/TMJ, and even change the appearance of your face.

What Can I Do to Stop Grinding My Teeth?

Your dentist can fit you with a mouth guard to protect your teeth from grinding during sleep.

If stress is causing you to grind your teeth, ask your doctor or dentist about options to reduce your stress. Attending stress counseling, starting an exercise program, seeing a physical therapist, or obtaining a prescription for muscle relaxants are among some of the options that may be offered.

Other tips to help you stop teeth grinding include:

Avoid or cut back on foods and drinks that contain caffeine, such as colas, chocolate, and coffee.
Avoid alcohol. Grinding tends to intensify after alcohol consumption.
Do not chew on pencils or pens or anything that is not food. Avoid chewing gum as it allows your jaw muscles to get more used to clenching and makes you more likely to grind your teeth.
Train yourself not to clench or grind your teeth. If you notice that you clench or grind during the day, position the tip of your tongue between your teeth. This practice trains your jaw muscles to relax.
Relax your jaw muscles at night by holding a warm washcloth against your cheek in front of your earlobe.

Do Children Grind Their Teeth?

The problem of teeth grinding is not limited to adults. Approximately 15% to 33% of children grind their teeth. Children who grind their teeth tend to do so at two peak times -- when their baby teeth emerge and when their permanent teeth come in. Most children lose the teeth grinding habit after these two sets of teeth have come in more fully.

Most commonly, children grind their teeth during sleep rather than during waking hours. No one knows exactly why children grind their teeth but considerations include improperly aligned teeth or irregular contact between upper and lower teeth, illnesses and other medical conditions (such as nutritional deficiencies, pinworm, allergies, endocrine disorders), and psychological factors including anxiety and stress.

Grinding of the baby teeth rarely results in problems. However, teeth grinding can cause jaw pain, headaches, wear on the teeth, and TMD. Consult your dentist if your child's teeth look worn or if your child complains of tooth sensitivity or pain.

Specific tips to help a child stop grinding his or her teeth include:

Decrease your child's stress, especially just before bed.
Try massage and stretching exercises to relax the muscles.
Make sure your child's diet includes plenty of water. Dehydration may be linked to teeth grinding.
Ask your dentist to monitor your child's teeth if he or she is a grinder.

No intervention is usually required with preschool-age children. However, older children may need temporary crowns or other methods, such as a night guard, to prevent the grinding.

من المهم بالنسبة لكِ أن تأخذي الرعاية الجيدة للأسنان واللثة ، قبل وأثناء وبعد الحمل.

الحمل يسبب التغيرات الهرمونية التي تزيد من خطر الاصابة بأمراض اللثة ، والتي بدورها ، يمكن أن تؤثر على صحة الجنين.

فيما يلي بعض النصائح لمساعدتك على المحافظة على صحة الفم جيداً قبل وأثناء وبعد الحمل.

قبل الحمل

موعد مع طبيب الأسنان قبل الحمل يمكن أن يكون إنقاذ لمشكلة كبيرة.

أثناء الحمل

* استشيري طبيب الأسنان (طبيب و) إذا كنت حاملا. كإجراء وقائي ، وينبغي تجنب علاج الأسنان خلال الثلاثة أشهر الأولى و الأخيرة إلا فى الطوارئ مع اتخاذ بعض الإحتياطات . و لكن يمكن عمل روتين العناية بالأسنان خلال الثلث الثاني من الحمل.

It's important for you to take good care of your teeth and gums while you are pregnant. Pregnancy causes hormonal changes that increase your risk of developing gum disease, which in turn, can affect the health of your developing baby.

Below are some tips to help you maintain good oral health before, during, and after your pregnancy.

Before You Get Pregnant

Try to make a dental appointment before getting pregnant. That way, your teeth can be professionally cleaned, your gum tissue can be carefully examined, and any oral health problems can be treated in advance of your pregnancy.

Tell your dentist (and doctor) if you are pregnant. As a precautionary measure, dental treatments during the first trimester and second half of the third trimester should be avoided as much as possible. However, routine dental care can be received during the second trimester. All elective dental procedures should be postponed until after the delivery.
Tell your dentist the names and dosages of all medications you are taking – including medications and prenatal vitamins prescribed by your doctor – as well as any specific medical advice your doctor has given you. Your dentist may need to alter your dental treatment plan based on this information. Certain drugs -- for example, such as tetracycline -- can affect the development of your child's teeth and should not be given during the pregnancy.
Avoid dental X-rays during pregnancy. If X-rays are essential (such as in a dental emergency), your dentist will use extreme caution to safeguard you and your baby. Advances in technology have made X-rays much safer today than in past decades.
Don't skip your dental checkup appointment simply because you are pregnant. Now more than any other time, regular periodontal (gum) examinations are very important because pregnancy causes hormonal changes that put you at increased risk for periodontal disease and for tender gums that bleed easily – a condition called pregnancy gingivitis. Pay particular attention to any changes in your gums during pregnancy. If tenderness, bleeding or gum swelling occurs at any time during your pregnancy, talk with your dentist or periodontist as soon as possible.
Follow good oral hygiene practices to prevent and/or reduce oral health problems.

Coping With Morning Sickness

If morning sickness is keeping you from brushing your teeth, change to a bland-tasting toothpaste during your pregnancy. Ask your dentist or hygienist to recommend brands.
Rinse your mouth out with water or a mouth rinse if you suffer from morning sickness and have bouts of frequent vomiting.

Eating Right for Your Teeth and Baby

Avoid sugary snacks. Sweet cravings are common during pregnancy. However, keep in mind that the more frequently you snack, the greater the chance of developing tooth decay. Additionally, some studies have shown that the bacteria responsible for tooth decay are passed from the mother to the child. So be careful of what you eat.
Eat a healthy, balanced diet. Your baby's first teeth begin to develop about three months into your pregnancy. Healthy diets containing dairy products, cheese and yogurt are a good source of these essential minerals and are good for your baby's developing teeth, gums, and bones.

After You've Had Your Baby

If you experienced any gum problems (including pregnancy gingivitis or a pregnancy tumor) during your pregnancy, see your dentist soon after delivery to have your entire mouth examined and your periodontal health evaluated.

أهمية إستخدام خيوط الأسنان

جميعنا يعلم أهمية الفرشاة ومعجون الأسنان لتنظيف الأسنان ومنع حدوث التسوس ولكن هذا لا يكفي فنجد أن الكثير ممن يهتمون يتنظيف أسنانهم يومياً بالفرشاة والمعجون يفاجؤون بحدوث كسر مفاجئ في أحد الأسنان أو الأضراس عند الأكل عليها وعند الذهاب إلى الطبيب يفاجؤون بوجود تسوس كبير في السن وبعض الأحيان لا يحدث الكسر بل يشعرون بألم مفاجئ بأحد الأسنان رغم أنه ظاهرياً يكون خالي من التسوس والسبب في الحالتين بسط ومعروف وهو حدوث تسوس جانبي غير ظاهر والذي يؤدي إلى تكون النخر الداخلي والذي بدوره يضعف الدعم عن الطبقة الخارجية للسن أو الضرس مما يؤدي إلى إنكسارها بالحالة الأولى أو وصولة إلى عصب السن في الحالة الثانية.

وسبب حدوث هذا التسوس بالرغم من الأهتمام اليومي بتنظيف الأسنان بالفرشاة والمعجون يعود إلى عدم إستخدام خيوط تنظيف الأسنان.والتي يجب أن تستخدم مرة واحدة في اليوم بعد تفريش الأسنان قبل النوم.

البعض يظن خاطئاً أن وظيفة خيوط الأسنان هي إزالة بواقي الطعام من المناطق التي بين الأسنان وفي الأحوال الطبيعية للأشخاص ذوي الأسنان المرصوصة بشكل جيد لا يحدث تراكم بواقي الطعام بين الأسنان لذلك لا يجدون أهمية لإستخدام هذه الخيوط.

وظيفة خيوط الأسنان هي إزالة البلاك المتراكم في مناطق التماس بين الأسنان والتي لا تستطيع فرشاة الأسنان الوصول إليها.

ونعلم أن البلاك هي مادة لزجة بيضاء تحتوي على ملاين الأعداد من أنواع مختلفة من البكتيريا تبدأ بالتراكم على سطح الأسنان مباشرة بعد تفريش الأسنان ولكن إزالتها عن طريق التفريش اليومي وإستخدام الخيوط السنية لا يضر الأسنان.
وبقائها في مناطق التماس بين الأسنان يؤدي إلى نخر الأسنان الجانبي الذي تحدثنا عنه سابقاً عن طريق إفراز البكتيريا المكونة للبلاك أحماضاً تسبب حدوث هذا النوع من التسوس.

وللتأكد من صحة هذا الكلام أرجو من القارئ الكريم أن يقوم بتفريش أسنانه بشكل جيد وبعد أن ينتهي من ذلك، عليه إستخدام الخيط السني وسيجد أن رائحة ونكهة كريهة تخرج من بين الأسنان وخصوصاً الأضراس وهذا يدل على أن عملية التفريش لا تغني عن إستخدام الخيط وهذة النكهة الكريهة هي البلاك المتراكم في مناطق تماس الأسنان الذي لا تصل إليه فرشاة الأسنان.

ويستخدم خيط الأسنان بلفه على السبابة لليد اليمنى وسبابة اليد اليسرى ونفوم بإدخاله بين الأسنان بشكل عمودي على اللثة ومتوازي مع أسطح الأسنان الجانبية على أن نمرره صعوداً وهبوطاً عدة مرات مع مراعاة ملامسته لسطح السن الجاني حتى نتأكد من زوال البلاك عنه. وهكذا نكرر العملية بين جميع الأسنان.
ومن غير المقبول إستخدام الخيوط العادية الغير مخصصة لهذا الأمر لأنها قد تؤدي إلى حدوث إلتهابات باللثة نتيجة لعدم نظافتها.

وهناك بعض أنواع خيوط الأسنان والتي تكون مثبته بنهاية أعواد بلاستيكية لتنظيف الأسنان من الممكن إستخدامها وتؤدي نفس الغرض.

1-Understand why your gums may bleed when you floss your teeth.

خروج السن من مكانه نتيجة حادث أو صدمه

أنا أكتب هذا الموضوع لأنه حدث لي و أنا صغير و لكن لم أكن أعرف ماذا أفعل...فأتمنى أن يستفيد من يقرأه و يفيد من حوله.

يمكن أن تخرج الأسنان لعدة من الأسباب : في كثير من الأحيان بسبب ضربة إلى الفم ، أو حادث في الوجهه. يمكن أن يحدث هذا على سبيل المثال خلال إحدى الرياضات.و من الممكن أن توضع الأسنان في مكانها بنجاح ولكن في أقرب وقت ممكن.

أنا أنزف -- ماذا يمكن أن أفعل؟

لا داعي للذعر. ضع قطعة من الشاش بعد ثنيها ، وعض عليها. ابق الفكين معا مع الضغط. إذا كان هناك ألم ، لا تأخذ أي أدوية تحتوي على الأسبرين حيث أن هذا يمكن أن يزيد من النزيف ، يمكنك أن تأخذ بروفين®.و لا تضع زيت القرنفل على الجرح.

إذا كان السن كامل ، أيمكن وضعها مرة أخرى؟

يمكن عمل حامي للفم إذا كنت رجل رياضي ، والتي يغطي أسنانك وتحميك من أي ضربة باتجاه الفم.

What is an avulsed tooth ?

An avulsed tooth is one that has been knocked out.

A tooth can be knocked out for a number of reasons: often a blow to the mouth, or an accident involving the face. This can happen for example during contact sports. It is possible to replace the tooth in the socket successfully if the right action is taken as soon as possible.

I’m bleeding – what can I do ?

Don’t panic. Get a clean handkerchief and fold it up, then hold it over the socket and bite down. Keep your jaws together to apply pressure. If you need something for the pain, don’t take any medication containing aspirin as this can encourage further bleeding, you can take brufen®. Do not apply clove oil to the wound.

I’ve still got the complete tooth, can it be replaced ?

Maybe. The complete tooth needs to be replaced in the socket as soon as possible, ideally in under 30 minutes. But teeth have been successfully replaced up to 60 minutes after being knocked out.

What should I do with the tooth ?

Avoid handling the root. If it is very dirty, rinse it with milk and wipe it with a clean cloth. Do not clean it with disinfectant or water or let it dry out.

How do I put the tooth back in ?

Hold the tooth by the crown and put it back into the socket firmly, root first. Bite on a clean

handkerchief for about 15-20 minutes.

What should I do if I can’t get the tooth back in ?

Your tooth has more chance of survival if you keep it in your cheek or under your tongue until you can get emergency dental treatment. This will keep the tooth in its most natural environment. If this is not possible, keep it in some milk.

What if I have only got part of the tooth that has been knocked out ?

It is not a good idea to try and put the tooth back into the socket if it is not complete. Contact your dental surgeon as soon as possible and your dentist will tell you what options are available to restore the tooth. You may need dental x-rays to see if there is any root damage.

Is there anything I should do if I haven’t got the tooth ?

If you cannot find the tooth, you may have swallowed it. If you think you may have swallowed or inhaled it, you may need an x-ray to be sure of this.

What if it is a baby tooth ?

Most dentists would not recommend re-implanting a baby tooth in case an infection damaged the adult tooth underneath. Contact your dentist as soon as possible for advice. They may need to examine the child to check if any fragments of tooth are still in the gum. There is no way of temporarily replacing a baby tooth, so the treatment is to wait for the adult tooth to come through and dentist may make a space maintainer to keep room for the adult tooth .

What should happen at my emergency visit ?

Your dentist will assess the immediate situation and may treat any facial injury. However, treatment may be limited if there is any bruising or bleeding. They may take x-rays and will check if the tooth has re-implanted successfully. You will probably need more appointments for follow up treatment.

What further treatment options will be available to me ?

If the tooth has re-implanted successfully you may not need any further treatment as long as you keep up your regular check-ups with your dentist. If the tooth becomes loose, it can be splinted to the teeth next to it. This means it will be temporarily attached to keep it firm until your dentist can tell whether it has re-implanted successfully.
If the tooth is lost or doesn’t implant successfully, it can be replaced at first with a denture immediate dental implant. Then, when the socket has healed fully, you can have a bridge or implant.

Is there anything that I can do to avoid getting a tooth knocked out ?

You could wear a mouthguard if you are sport man, cover that fits over your teeth and protects you against a blow to the mouth. Your dentist can have one made for you by taking an impression of your teeth.

1- عدم البصق أو غسل الفم أوالمضمضة لمدة 24 ساعة على الأقل بعد عملية الخلع مباشرة حتى لا يؤدي ذلك للنزيف عدا واحدة خفيفة للوضوء.

2- وضع قطعة من الشاش المعقم والعض عليها لمدة نصف ساعة على الأقل ثم إزالتها ووضع واحدة أخرى للمدة نفسها.

3- بعد إزالة الشاشة لا تحاول العبث في مكان الخلع بلسانك أو بإصبعك أو الفرشاة أو غير ذلك حتى لا يؤدي إلى النزيف.

4- الامتناع عن التدخين لمدة 24 ساعة على الأقل.

5- عدم شرب أو أكل الساخن لمدة 24 ساعة على الأقل بعد عملية الخلع

6- لا تأكل على الجانب الذي تم فيه الخلع لمدة 24 ساعة.

7- شرب أو أكل البارد بعد 6 ساعات على الأقل بعد الخلع.

8-من المعتاد وجود تورم بسيط في الجهة التي تمت فيها الجراحة فلا تنزعج من ذلك

9- من المعتاد وجود إحمرار في اللعاب بعد عملية الخلع فلا تنزعج من ذلك

10-استمر في تفر يش أسنانك كما هو المعتاد بعد الخلع بـ 24 ساعة

11- بعد الخلع بـ 24 ساعة تمضمض بماء دافئ مذاب فيه نصف ملعقة من الملح من ثلاث إلى أربع مرات في اليوم لمدة خمسة أيام.

12- في حالة استمرار النزيف من مكان الخلع لمدة أكثر من 6 ساعات أو وجود مضاعفات لا قدر الله فيجب عليك وضع كيس من الشاى بمحتوياته على مكان الخلع و العض عليه ثم قم بمراجعة الطبيب.

13- أكمل العلاج الموصوف لك من الطبيب المعالج حسب التعليمات والمدة المحددة حتى بعد زوال الأعراض التي كنت تشكي منها.

1. DO NOT RINSE MOUTH TODAY. 24 hours after the extraction rinse mouth gently every 3 to 4 hours (especially after meals) using warm salt water ( 1/2 teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water). Continue rinses for several days. Should you have food particles stick in the extraction sites, you might want to rinse with diluted hydrogen peroxide with water.

2. BLEEDING. Following extractions some bleeding is to be expected. It is normal for the saliva to be slightly streaked with blood or tea stained for 1 to 2 days. If persistent bleeding occurs, place moist gauze pads or a tea bag with its content over bleeding area and bite down firmly for one-half hour. Repeat if necessary. If bleeding still persists, contact the dentist on call.

3. SWELLING. Some swelling is normal and should not cause alarm. An ice bag or chopped ice wrapped in a towel should be applied to operated area, one-half hour on and one-half hour off for 4 to 5 hours.

4. PAIN. For mild to average pain use any non-aspirin type of medication you like. Non-steroid anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen are recommended.

5. FOOD/DIET. A liquid or soft diet is advisable during the first 24 hours. Drink lots of fluids. Avoid drinking with straws for the first few days as this can result in bleeding and delayed healing. The sucking action creates a negative pressure which will cause bleeding.

6. BONY EDGES. Small sharp bone fragments may work up through the gums during healing. These are not roots; if annoying, return to this office for their simple removal.

7. SMOKING. If you smoke it is advised that you not smoke for the first 36 hours. Smoking will delay healing and can cause a very uncomfortable condition known as “dry socket”.

8. The proper care following oral surgical procedures will hasten recovery and prevent complications.
